Spring Break

So a lot of people I know outside of my own school have been positively howling about spring break for months. I'm excited as much as the next person for spring break but I also really like my school and the education I receive there and wouldn't mind if spring break didn't exist.

But don't get the wrong idea.

I'm still excited for spring break. In fact, today was the last day of school before spring break.

But please, tell me what you're most excited about for break! Or what you've done, or what you're doing now! I'd love to hear about your adventures, so comment below and share your spring break stories with me! :)

If I can, I promise to reply back and let you know my thoughts about your awesome spring break!

Don't feel like you can only comment if you went/are going anywhere or that you have to make up a story; let me know the real events. The real spring break. The real you.

Prompt: You're stuck in between. Of what?

Note: This is a story from a prompt and not in any way my actual life.

Perhaps it's meant to be this way. You're the third wheel. Then the two other friends fight and suddenly you're the most important thing in the world to each of them because you have to pick which one to be BFF's with. First, they cast you aside and be the picture-perfect best friends from a movie whilst you sit there alone. One day they have a fight. They can't get over their egos' so they continue to fight with each other as though all the bad times erase the good times. "The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice-versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant." -Doctor Who. Then, in one unique moment, they turn to you. *plot twist* you're now the most important thing in the world and they'll do anything for you to win you over. The sad thing is, is you fall for it. And once you choose, it gets worse. They stop doing what it took to get you. The other friend sulks alone now. The friend you chose feels bad for them. They become friends again and *poof* you're the third wheel again. Is this how life works? You're just a tool, a plaything to use when wanted but to be cast aside to the basement as soon as you stop doing exactly what they want?

No.

Draft from last week.

Once again, sent upstairs. Once again, sent away. Once again, sent to clean.

I flick the bright light on as I realize the storm clouds hovering above my house make the cluttered room far too dark to walk in, let alone clean. "Ugh," I think to myself. "This room is ridiculous. What tornado came into my room with a heavy case of revenge on their mind?" I looked around that over-crowded room and I couldn't believe I had managed to live like this for over a week.
The piles of homework scattered on the musty carpet, dust coating my bookshelves like a warm, wool blanket, and the trash bin overflowing with heaps of crumpled yellow paper, old apple cores, and moldy candy wrappers.

Memory Jar

Hi everybody! So I recently found this amazing idea. It's called a memory jar. It's super fun, creative, and totally easy! Have you ever had those moments when you say or think, "I'm going to remember this for the rest of my life." Well, you can with the memory jar!

What you'll need:

Jar (preferably big)
Paper
Scissors
Tape
Pen/pencil

Instructions (Note: read through before beginning)

First, place your jar in front of you so you can use it as a size reference. Then, take some paper and cut it into a shape you like. (I cut mine into a cloud). Next, write 'Memories 2014' on it, or something like that. You can then draw some cute shapes or drawings you like on it. (I drew stars). Then tape the paper to the jar. Cut more paper into rectangular strips. You're going to write your memories on those. So get writing! When you've written a memory on the piece of paper, fold it up and put it in the jar.

This is super fun and it's an awesome, easy way to remember all your great times this year. At the end of the year, you can look back on all your happy, funny, sad, wonderful memories that you wrote down. Let me know if you guys try it! It's super fun, super creative, and super easy. Hope y'all enjoy it! I took a picture of the memory jar I made in case you guys wanted a visual aid.

Have a great day! Lend a helping hand when you normally wouldn't. Smile when you're down. Be yourself.
