Black Friday and 'Song of the Week'

Hello everyone! I hope y'all are having a fantastic day! For those of you in America, I hope you guys are staying inside on Black Friday. Yes, I'm aware there are fabulous deals, but you can stay inside (safe and unharmed) and go shopping online. I'll admit that I actually ventured outside today )instead of staying inside wrapped in a blanket as I have done every other year of my life) and I went shopping. The experience wasn't horrible, but I certainly don't intend  to go shopping outside of my computer on my couch with hot cocoa at my side ever again.
With that said, I have news for you all!
Every Saturday (EST in the USA) I will be posting for a new segment I'm starting called "Song of the Week". This will be a song that I feel is something of significance, importance, a good message, or just a song that I feel at least some of us can relate to. I'll be including comments on why I chose this song to be the song of the week and hopefully you guys will be able to connect with it as well, and perhaps my writing will give you a new perspective on the song. Let me know in comments!

Don't forget to subscribe to my blog by typing in your email in the subscription box to the right!!

Alright my readers, keep an eye out for my posts tomorrow because tomorrow afternoon, I'll be releasing the kick-off of my brand new segment "Song of the Week"!

For all of us on Blogger, all around the world, have a great day.

Quote of the Day

Alas, the time has come for the final "Quote of the Day" of today's special quoting frenzy to bring back the segment. I think the following quote is one of the top two, if not the top winner of the quotes I've posted today. I hope y'all enjoy!

Quote #5 (finale) of the return of the segment:

“ 'Thank you'  is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.” Alice Walker

Whoa! This is so true. I know that those of you in America have probably already said "thank you" a million times today because of Thanksgiving, but for those of you who haven't said it today, think of someone or something that you are thankful for, and say "thank you". Out loud. Right now. Try saying "thank you" at least once a day, and really, really mean it. Whether someone saves your life from a poisonous rattle snake, or someone picks up and returns to you a penny you dropped on the ground, say thank you. It's amazing to hear it, and it feels even better to say it to someone and really mean it. Giving back, that's what it's all about. Saying "thank you" is the best way to give back.

Quote of the Day

Mmm what a lovely time of year this is! Thanksgiving, sweater weather, fall leaves, kindness, gratitude, and so many more lovely things of this beautiful season! Recently some of you contacted me asking me to bring back "Quote of the Day" today, so here it is you lovely readers, you. Scroll back through my other posts today to see the other quotes I posted today! :) I hope you enjoy this one:

Quote #4 of the return of the segment:

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” Oprah Winfrey

I actually think this is a really awesome quote. It's message is simple, but so, so true. This is something a lot of people need to work on, whether or not they realize they're concentrating on what they don't have, especially with Black Friday coming up in America. I even catch myself thinking about that sometimes, but I just remind myself of all the wonderful things I do have. A loving family, the best of friends, food on my table, a roof over my head, a great school, and so much else that I care so much about. Look, I'm not a millionaire, and I doubt that a lot of you reading this are, but we all have at least something we are thankful for. Those are the things you should think about, not about not having the coolest iPhone or the newest sports car. I really hope this message sticks with you guys.

I hope you guys are having a marvelous day today and that you are enjoying the quotes I'm posting in the return of the segment "Quote of the Day". Some of you contacted me and requested me to bring it back today, so I just want to say thank you so much, it was so lovely to see that you guys truly cared about it. Without further ado, another quote!

Quote #3 of the return of the segment:

“We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.” John F. Kennedy

I just want to say that this is totally true. It's a really great message and it's something we should all try to do a little more of, including me. I hope you remember this quote.

Quote of the Day Return

Whoo-hoo! I hope you all are having a good day, because it's about to be a great one! For some of you long-time readers, I'm bringing back an old segment called "Quote of the Day". I've been intending to bring it back for a while, and recently some of you convinced me to really bring it back when you guys sent in requests to bring it back on this special day: Thanksgiving. Well today is that special day, and because it is not only a holiday but also the return of the segment, I'll be posting more than one for y'all to enjoy today. Keep a look out for some special quotes today!

Quote #1 of the return of the segment:

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from Arizona! I hope you all are having a marvelous day of celebration with your loved ones. Personally, I am a vegetarian so I don't take part in eating Turkey, but for those of you who do, I hope your meal is spectacular and you have the best of days today! Warm wishes to all!
