Some people say that being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, but that it means you've decided to look past the imperfections. Others say that happiness comes from within and is found in the present moment by making peace with the past and looking forward to the future. Then, there are some others who are content to say that happiness is a cup of coffee and a really good book. Here's what I say:
I think happiness is a flower blooming in your garden. Happiness is seeing it rain outside and dashing out into it, dancing with glee. Happiness is seeing a smile on your father's face. Happiness is pouring hot water from the kettle for afternoon tea. Happiness is embracing the warm hug of a familiar friend. Happiness is a broken beauty.

Only Gold Can Stay- Robert Frost
To Charity S.
A year ago today you recited this poem to me, and I'm so happy you did. I love this poem and am glad to share it with others now as you did to me. Thank you.
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leafs a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Nature
An imitation poem of "Benediction" by James Berry.
Thanks to the brook
That someone may wade through.
Thanks to the birds
That someone may sing to.
Thanks to the trees
That someone may climb.
Thanks to the ground
That someone may walk upon.
Thanks to forests of the deep
And woods of the wild,
Keeping one with nature, and nature with one.
Haven of Nature
This is a poem I wrote in the beginning of last year.
Leaves swirling,
To the
Sun-dappled earth.
Church bells singing,
While pigeons coo.
Bird house swaying
In the peaceful breeze.
Honey-golden flowers
Dance,
To the music of the air.
"One Drop" by Plumb
Let me know what you guys think.
I need you, and you need me
Left alone, we will never be who we could be
So take my hand and, don't forget that
We can do anything together
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Just one drop of your love
A single ray of sun
Just one thing to change the world
It's just you and me
Starting with a dream
And giving it all we've got
Only takes one drop
(Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh)
Only takes one drop
(Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh)
Only takes one drop
Only takes one drop
Come with me now, look and see how
There's an ocean overflowing with our hope so
Let's jump in and, take a swim, it's
You and me, yeah forever
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Just one drop of your love
A single ray of sun
Just one thing to change the world
It's just you and me
Starting with a dream
And giving it all we've got
Only takes one drop

"God's Not Dead" Movie Review
About ten minutes ago, I finished viewing a new movie titled, God's Not Dead. Intrigued by the trailer, I decided to purchase it at a local Target yesterday. Upon watching it today, I became not only captivated by the astounding performance of the actors, but also fascinated at how much this movie captured the truth of this:
Yes, there is debate over whether or not God is alive. Yes, everyone has a different perspective on the topic. And yes, anyone can take a stand for their belief.
Anyway,
the movie starts out with a college freshman named Josh, who decides to take on a philosophy class. A college administrator tries to warn Josh upon finding out he is Christian. Josh takes the class anyway and finds out his professor doesn't believe in God. The first task of class as the professor so flatly stated, "I want you to write three words on this piece of paper with your signature." (I'd just like to point out now that I am not directly quoting the movie throughout any of this.) "I want you to write the words 'God is dead'." As everyone writes this out, Josh cannot go against his belief. The professor, clearly annoyed by this, presents a challenge to Josh, saying that in the last twenty minutes of the next three classes, Josh may give an argument defending his belief in God.
And thus the debate began.
Now, I won't tell you any more for I don't want to spoil anything about the movie. I will say this, however, that I thoroughly enjoyed watching it (even more so than I had anticipated) and I recommend it to all of you. Perhaps not children, but to all the teens and adults out there: whatever your beliefs are, however against God, with God, or neutral you currently are to Him, watch this movie. It changed my life.

Quote of the Day
“We’re all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?” — "The Doctor" Steven Moffat, Season 5, Episode 13
The reason I chose to post this quote today is not simply because I watch the British TV show, "Doctor Who", but because I feel this quote is absolutely fantastic. It's so small, but it has one of the biggest meanings in the world. It's true: all of us are stories. And all of us can make our stories. We aren't fixed plot lines going on along our lines, like words in a book. We are stories, yes, but we are not stories in books. We can change our stories, change who we are and where we're going. Make sure you don't follow somebody else's path along the way- follow yours. Just be sure you make the right decisions along the way.

Writing
For me, writing is almost my own realm filled with the beauty of literature where wonder and words come together as one, forever entwined, marking an imprint of theirselves on my pen, on my page, on my life. I hope you all experience this as well when you write. Writing is so amazing--it's unlike anything else in the world. Everyone writes differently in their own ways. Writing isn't something everybody appreciates, but it's something everyone can do. So, whatever your feelings are about writing, do one favor for me.
WRITE!
Well go on, then. It doesn't have to be long, or short, or have any sense of conformity. Just write what you want to write. Share it! Spread your creativity to those around you! Ask others to do what I'm asking of you. It doesn't have to be many people. It can even be one person. But think about it: to the world, it may be just one person, but to that one person, you just gave them the world. The world of writing.

Quote of the Day
“The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.”

Quote of the Day (and Yesterday)
Sorry guys! I couldn't get on my blog yesterday, so I couldn't do the quote of the day. So I'm doing two today!
"Be yourself, everyone else is already taken." ― Unknown
“In the space between yes and no, there's a lifetime. It's the difference between the path you walk and the one you leave behind; it's the gap between who you thought you could be and who you really are."
― Jodi Picoult, Change of Heart

Quote of the Day
So I've decided to start a new event on my blog called the "Quote of the Day". What I'll be doing is posting a new quote each day that I feel has a signifigant meaning and importance to it. So without further ado, the quote of the day: "We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who really are." -"Sirius Black" J.K. Rowling, Order of the Phoenix.

A Tractor Ride
A shadowed path,
Of dark and light.
Opposites.
Combining not only as one,
But equal harmony.
Walking Camelback
A green forest surrounds us,
Trees stand tall and proud,
Protecting us
From the scorching sun.
Sounds and scents of nature
Fill the air.
As nature becomes one with me,
And I,
I become one with nature.
Walking Home: My Last Sunset on Saturday Evening
A fiery ember
Glows in the distance.
The red-orange light
Radiates through the trees.
It sends a last ray of hope,
And fades into the earth.
Darkness engulfs my world,
And a single moon rises,
Giving hope for tomorrow,
From yesterday.
The Edge of Everything
Pale green water,
Inches toward the shore.
Waves ripple at the edge.
A gentle breeze,
Slowly flows by.
As I sit
On the edge of everything.
Remember
Whisps of clouds
Provide no shade
Under the scorch,
Of the burning sun.
The lake ripples,
As the hush of the gentle breeze
Rolls by.
Whispering the names
Of those long forgotten.
My Last Sunset on Saturday Evening
Sunset lit the field,
Glowing in fiery embers.
I looked upon the sea of grass,
And beyond to the lake.
Silence.
Just nature,
Beauty.
Nature
A lake glistening,
Under the bright rays of the sun.
Sounds of nature
Fill the air.
Trees rustle,
Birds whistle.
And I,
I am one with nature.
Gentle Life
Clouds of white,
Swimming in a sea of blue.
Sunlight rains down,
Upon the field of grass.
Trees speckle the bright haven.
Horses,
Free as the wind.
Blowing softly.
In Silence
In silence,
Sunlight streams in,
Through the windows.
The world around me
Is hushed,
In silence,
As though each being
Waits for the dawn
In silence.
Pine Cone of the Forest
Winter snow,
Falling down below,
The pine tree's crowning jewel.
A glistening heart,
Flaked with snow,
Pine cone of the forest.
